After twenty years is a story penned by O'Henry. The story revolves around two friends named Bob and Tom. Bob was 15 and Tom was 18. Bob is a person, who was willing to earn by any means. Tom is a person, who was willing to earn only through honesty. There was a difference of opinion. So they came to an conclusion to meet after twenty years in same place, Same time in whatever position they maybe. After twenty years, Tom was an earnest police officer and Bob was an underground don. Tom had an important undercover operation to arrest a most wanted person by Chicago police . That person was unfortunately was the Tom's old pal, Bob. Tom was able to recognize Bob. He was not able to arrest his closest friend. what happens is the touching climax.
