India v New Zealand Series 2010/11

In this series, India have played New Zealand three tests so far and they are yet to play a 5 match ODI series. In their first test, India had the upper hand by having a lead of 20-25 odd runs, the situation changed when India lost their 6th wicket for 65. Thanks to the efforts of Laxman and Harbhajan for their match saving partnership. India managed a draw from a disastrous situation. In their second test, the things were much better but te pitch supported the batsmen. Even this match was drawn. Though India managed to draw their two games, New Zealanders won all the positive things. But in the third test, India came back strongly not only with the bat but also with the ball as they restricted the visitors for 193 runs and got a very big total which helped India to be dominated. Indian bowlers continued their efforts in the second innigs too restricting them to just 175 runs. India won the match by an innings and 198 runs. This is the 3rd biggest team for India. Though India won their series, They lost 1 point in the rankings as they just managed draws for the first two matches. But still Indians are at the top of the rankings with 129 points well ahead of South Africa and Sri Lanka. Some of the senior players are now rested for the upcoming ODI series. The squad is lead by Gautam Gambhir. Lets see what happens and hope they win the series.
